What is the CAHSEE?

• This is an exam that all California Students are required to pass in order to graduate from High School.  The CAHSEE is composed of two parts: English/Language Arts, and  Mathematics.

• The English/Language Arts portion of the exam is composed of multiple choice questions, as well as one essay.  The Mathematics portion is only composed of multiple choice questions.

• The examination assesses your proficiency in the basic reading, writing, and mathematics skills taught in public high school and shows that students are proficient in the areas of reading, writing, and mathematics.

• If you pass the examination, you are able to graduate from your California High School and continue on to higher education.
